Responding to Hurricanes

As a first responder to the Southeast Asian tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar, International Medical Corps has brought life-saving services to the survivors of some of the most devastating storms of our time. Expanding on 25 years of experience, IMC understands both the immediate and long-term needs of tropical storm survivors.

International Medical Corps responds to emergencies effectively and efficiently to make sure people have what they need to survive. Our teams go to the heart of the impact - often where few dare to go - and bring critical relief, like food and clean water. We create mobile medical clinics to deliver emergency medicine where it is needed most, while our mass immunization campaigns reduce the threat of disease. After the crisis subsides, we stay to rebuild the affected area and strengthen the communities' ability to prepare for and handle future disasters on their own.
