VIDEO: "Emerging from Famine"
For people in Ethiopia, drought and famine constantly threaten their existence. Malnutrition is the primary cause of death among children, and life expectancy is only 49 years old. As food costs rise, the risk of having nothing to eat increases daily.

International Medical Corps (IMC) adopted a community-based approach to malnutrition in 2004. Rather than treating malnutrition only through far-off sites, IMC makes nutritional support available in people’s homes and communities. Today, IMC has helped over two million people and trained over 20,000 community workers in Ethiopia through the community-based feeding program. Watch and learn more about how IMC’s 200 nutrition sites around the world that save the lives of severely malnourished children.
