Evidence-Based Research Unit
As one of the only international relief and development NGOs in the world with the in-house capacity to research and document the health needs of vulnerable populations, effect programmatic changes to reflect these scientific findings, and successfully advocate for policy change, IMC puts transparency and accountability at the top of its list of strategic priorities. Its Evidence-Based Research Unit works with headquarters and field staff throughout IMC to incorporate its population-based findings into program planning and implementation, ensuring that limited resources are targeted to meet the most pressing needs and have the greatest impact. Health Technical Unit
International Medical Corps’ Health Technical Unit (HTU) was established to ensure that IMC’s global health care program planning and operations conform to the highest professional standards in the fields of emergency relief and development. The HTU provides guidance for IMC’s extensive, worldwide network of staff and volunteer doctors, nurses, and other professionals in order to strengthen IMC’s technical capabilities in primary health care; reproductive health; gender-based violence; HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other infectious diseases; nutrition; water and sanitation; and monitoring and evaluation.
